Following is a few plants which we have found perform very well in shaded conditions. Please keep in mind, shady areas usually are more well lit than you would expect and you can have success with a wide range of plants. Two problems that can complicate shaded spots are (1) poor drainage (Too Wet) and (2) competition from trees and other plants (Too Dry).
